The last time Blackburn were relegated, most will remember the poignant image of the tears in Jack Walker’s eyes. This was the side that he loved, and the one into which he poured as much of his heart as he did his money.
With demotion almost a certainty again, could the circumstances be more different at Blackburn?

Remarkably, even now, no explanation exists for what Venky’s have been trying to do at Ewood Park. All the promises broken, an ever-growing web of lies, and a manager seemingly in-place as a relegation caretaker. So what happens next?
We’ve dealt on this site before with the conspiratorial possibilities about the Indian owners, why it is that Steve Kean is seemingly un-sackable, and Jerome Anderson’s role in the whole unsightly mess – but nobody can predict how Venky’s will react to relegation.
Amidst all the bluster and rhetoric that came out during the sale of the club – the superstar players, the European ambitions – what was lurking beneath the surface was really a desire to devalue the club, extract the value of the asset, and hope to God – or Vishnu – that Blackburn stayed in the Premier League.
That’s the only rationale that makes sense.
So what happens if they do down – what happens if Wigan leave Ewood Park undefeated tonight? Venky’s may very well be forced to sell the club. Clearly, they’re without the financial muscle needed to rebuild the club and win promotion through the Championship, so isn’t the only strategy available to the Rao family to sell-up a write-off their losses? If they don’t, and if they continue to refuse to spend money, Blackburn’s value would plummet with their league position.
Assurances have been made to the fans over what would happen if the club does drop out of the Premier League, but nothing the ownership ever says seems to have any truth in it – why would that habit break now?
Maybe this is the way out. Maybe this is what Rovers’ fans have to suffer to be rid of the Cancer in their club.
Whatever occurs, the Premier League need to ensure that this kind of thing never happens again – because this is a true example of a football club being raped. Richard Scudamore needs to speak out, and he needs to give some kind of justification for how these people were ever allowed to buy a football club. The definition of what constitutes a ‘fit and proper person’ seems more fluid than ever before, and it’s in desperate need of clarification.
How can Scudamore justify this happening on his watch – he is the Premier League’s key decision-maker, he must take a degree of responsibility. The fans have been deceived; they’ve had their pockets-picked, and their faces spat into. What will it take for the Premier League to actually stand-up to this kind of crass commercialism?

blackburn are special because we had probably the most stable club in the league behind the scenes owned by a man who loved the club all his life, Jack Walker. we won the premierleague, only arsenal, Manchester united and Chelsea have done so… what venkys have done to blackburn is not just unforgivable for what its done to the fans, but it has disgraced everything Jack Walker worked so hard to provide for the club. it’s absolutely disgraceful.
Why do you think Blackburn are so special? I support Portsmouth and exactly the same has happened to us.
Look at Birmingham City, in 2010 they had zero debt, since then they have sold all their best players raising millions, have a tiny wage bill and Parachute payments, yet are rumored to be in masses of debt due to asset stripping.
The list goes on and on. Join the club, its not just Blackburn!
The Premier League must be forced to look into this. Can you imagine if the Glazer’s had come in, sacked Sir Alex Ferguson, replaced him with someone who has no managerial or even playing experience, sacked all the board, sold all United’s top players (pocketed all the cash) replaced them with free transfers and seen the club relegated? The English League would be rocked to it’s foundations. Make no mistake…Scudamore should be sacked for sitting back and allowing a founder member of the Premier League to be stripped to it’s bones.
It is my opinion that Kean and Anderson are both in on this. Why else would Kean have been employed as managed in the first place? A look at his wikipedia page proves this guy is not fit to manage a kid’s junior team – let alone a Premier League team. Kean then tries to claim he needs a security man because he has been threatened by supporters. The fact is the man is his chauffeur as Kean himself he is a convicted drunken driver – again he unsuccessfully claimed in court that fan’s had spiked his drink. Sport’s commentators believe Kean has acted with dignity – do me a favour!! Mark Lawrenson, Charlie Nicholas, Talksport, Sky Sports News etc etc…..SHAME ON YOU!!
