Sam Allardyce loves a fading star, doesn’t he?
The Sun are reporting this morning that ex-Real Madrid and Spain midfielder Guti is having a trial at West Ham.
Yes, really.
Guti hasn’t actually played competitive football since 2011, after he was released by Turkish club Besiktas at the end of last year – so this is far from a formality.
Barry O’Connor, who according to The Sun ‘looks after Guti’s affairs in England’ – which in other words means that he won the mandate to whore the player around English clubs in exchange for a commission – had this to say:
“West Ham will make a final decision before the next season starts.
I cannot discuss what terms could be offered.”
He can’t discuss anything else, because he won’t be part of that conversation as and when it happens – West Ham will negotiate with Guti’s agent. Third-party agents, got to love them…
Interesting…
