Footballers really do live in a different world. What are people supposed to say in response to that? “Oh yeah, ok Stevey, it’s completely unfair that Wolves aren’t selling you for less than their valuation.”
Head’s gone? Really? So by that he actually means ‘I want to get my own way with this situation, and I’m going to stamp my feet until I do’. Grow up, this could have been resolved by Sunderland and Wolves without any public output from Fletcher. What does he expect from the fans? Understanding as to why he feels he can’t contribute to Wolves attempt to return to the Premier League? Yup, that will go well.

Players have got to stop thinking that they’re being hard done by when their clubs refuse to sell them – we can’t seem to go more than a week without someone moaning about how terribly unfortunate it is to be denied a transfer.
Just as with Arsenal and Robin Van Persie, and Tottenham and Luka Modric, Wolves will sell the player as and when they’re satisfied with an offer made to them. Once that happens, then Fletcher can have an opinion on where he wants to go.
We’ve published on this subject before, so no need to retread old ground – but paying anything above £10m for a player of Fletcher’s abilities seems a little steep, especially when there’s better value abroad. Presumably now that the player has flounced, we’ll have a resolution to this within a few days – not a moment too soon, because it’s right up there with the other ultra-tedious sagas of the Summer.
To be fair I don’t mind Fletcher going. He played his part last season it wasn’t his fault we went down. He deserves to play in the Premier League and Sunderland are a genuine big club. completely the opposite to that traitor Kightly who we supported for years when he was injured, contributed nothing in the Premier and now wants to run off to a smaller club like Stoke.
Yup. Tosser. So long Stevie, thanks for the goals that didn’t secure our premier league status. Looking forward to seeing Stale’s replacement for you in action.
