Mirror take imaginative new angle on Modric & Chelsea

Like This!

Most of the stories currently circulating about Luka Modric are the same article reworded, such are the perils of not having anything new to report. However, one particular effort stands proudly above them all and, as you’d expect, it’s courtesy of the Mirror.

These are the first three sentences:

‘Luka Modric is heading for showdown talks over his Tottenham future – just as Roman Abramovich moors his yacht in the midfielder’s native Croatia.

Chelsea owner Abramovich has already had a £22million bid turned down for Modric, after the midfielder made it clear he wants to quit White Hart Lane.

But Abramovich is expected to board his £115m yacht in Dubrovnik after locals said it was fully stocked with food and drink.’

Really, this is just how to waste space on the internet. There seems to be, and this is still a bit of a quantum leap, an insinuation that Abramovich’s holiday destination is related to Chelsea’s pursuit of Tottenham’s Croatian playmaker. The ‘food and drink’ bit – honestly, we’ve got no idea.

Shockingly, all five user comments seem to have been moderated…

The whole Modric affair is typical of MU more than Chelsea but it looks like Abramovitch has learnt from them and is still seething about his reception at WHL when he tried to buy THFC and was knocked back. What is confusing is the initial price for Modric but then I suppose that is Abramovitch showing off his money power to the world by saying:”look i bid only 22million and he wants to come”. The pity of it all is that Modric is allowing himself to become a pawn by sitting up and taking notice. Had the bid been 45 million I could understand him being keen but 22 million is an insult to him and the club. The aristocracy did this for millenia and were never allowed to forget it but the rich do it and it is all okay

I used to wonder why beautiful women were so keen to star in porn movies and now I see footballers being exactly the same: winning things? It’s about money and its power and nothing else.

Greed? What? Who are a vegan save the whale hari krishna who doesn’t have any material things? The fact that you’re using a computer to paste stupids comments prove that you’re no different from any material seeking person. You don’t have a big boat it’s because you have little ability to be successful or maybe no brians.

All this talk is nonsense. It’s true the boat was stocked with food. But right now my arm hurts. That’s all that matters.

    Has anyone seen my hat?
