Liverpool are apparently bidding for Bologna’s 21 year-old Uruguayan Gaston Ramirez – and that’s based on the following quotes from the player’s agent:
‘Bologna have received an offer near to 20million euros from an important club in the Premier League, Bologna will decide at the end of the season what they are going to do.’
Hmmm…
That’s pretty tenuous, even if Liverpool are the obvious candidate to be recruiting flair and creativity, given their obvious need to gouge Charlie Adam out of the first-team.
Six goals and four assists for Ramirez so far in Serie A this season – who doesn’t look like your typical South American playmaker at a physical 6ft. That’s a bonus though, because the usual ‘Pablo Aimar-style’ creative midfielder usually struggles against the more ‘industrious’ defending seen in England.
Beware the quotes from the agent, because that’s a popular trick to leverage interest from other clubs. Saying your client is the subject of interest from England is particularly effective too, given the affluent nature of the game over here.

I was about to say that for once a UK news outlet was not involved in printing crazy unfounded stories regarding LFC’s transfer dealings. I then woke up and realised that the Metro had their sticky fingers in the pie. Hopefully but doubtfully they and their ilk will eventually realise Liverpool no longer tell the press anything about their dealings, (The Liverpool Way) has returned and the press will only discover what is going on when and if the Management and board deem it appropriate. Until then anything you read should be taken with a pinch of salt, nay a bucketful of the white gritty stuff.
