We should all be used to outlandish transfer rumours involving Chelsea by now, and most us will have dismissed their link with Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain with a bit of a shrug.
Just about every paper in the country has run this one, and maybe it’s not quite as silly as originally thought.
Higuain has lost his place in Jose Mourinho’s team, and supposedly his agent Norberto Cacho will meet with club officials next week to establish whether his client has a long-term future at the Bernabeu. Depending on the outcome of that meeting – which will probably be negative – the Argentine will probably looking for a new club in the Summer.
Chelsea beware though, PSG will be bidding for everything and anything in the off-season, and their ‘wells’ of resources run pretty deep.
Chelsea have already made their first signing ahead of 2012/13, with an agreement being reached with Werder Bremen yesterday for German playmaker Marko Marin.
