If ever a goal provided an insight into what happens when a team believes their season to be over, then it’s this one:
First things first, give a lot of praise to Gervinho. When he runs the ball down, there’s initially nothing on for him, and his only teammate faces a 5 vs 1 mismatch in the box. The Ivorian holds possession until Tomas Rosicky makes a late run into the area, and then picks him out brilliantly. Very economic play from a player whose confidence can’t be that high.
The Czech midfielder’s run and finish both deserve acclaim, and it’s a well-worked goal from Arsenal. That being said, look at how little West Brom do to try and prevent this. The still image doesn’t show this very well, so best to watch it on the video (below), but not one home player tracks Rosicky’s run into the box. Worse still, none of the defenders even react to his presence in any way. It’s not even as if this all happens particularly quickly, because Rosicky just jogs into the six-yard box and scores.

Rosicky deserves the most respect coz neva complains wen left out and stars wen given chance, especially wen needed. I’d like him retire at arsenal nd also be member of coaching staff. Respect. Gunner4lyf.
