Early Morning Notes: Manchester United, Jamie Carragher, Everton

Let’s get the fiction out of the way to start with; TalkSport are reporting that Manchester United are tracking Benfica’s Nico Gaitan, United are also supposedly ‘keeping an eye’ on humourously-named Dutch forward Ricky Van Wolfswinkel, and Kia Joorabchian has claimed that Carlos Tevez was ‘mistranslated’ in his interview after the Bayern Munich game.

There’s an article in The Mirror this morning that’s just waiting to be blown out of all proportion; Jamie Carragher is suggesting that having a foreign manager lead the national team is a form of cheating. Read it here.

The Telegraph’s Mark Ogden has done an interesting piece on where David Beckham might play next – the Middle East and South America being real possibilities apparently.

Staying with the Telegraph, there’s a story in there this morning about Everton’s financial plight – another story. Supposedly the club are losing £5m/year while they look for a new owner, and there are some interesting comments from Bill Kenwright.
