Twitter is a funny beast, and it frequently brings out the worst in people – especially journalists. The hacks mainly use the social media medium for breaking stories, or abusing people who don’t share their exact same opinions.
In amongst all the Harry Redknapp chatter late last night, TalkSport employee Ian Abrahams posted the following:
How often do we see this? Journalists making big bold claims which have no foundation to them for the sake of a bit of attention. It happens all the time, so nothing new there – however, very rarely do those claims get so wonderfully and brutally shot to pieces as Abrahams’ did last night by Paul Tyrell, who is Director of Communications at Everton.
Presumably, had Abrahams actually had any real source for his Tweet, he would have disputed Tyrell’s claim just a little bit.
Not so much… he went with the ‘sorry, sorry, sorry’ defence and went crying back to Richard Keys and Andy Gray.
