Liverpool face a battle with AC Milan as they look to clinch the signing of Danish star Christian Eriksen.
A ‘battle’ is right, Eriksen is a Category A talent, and as such comes accompanied by a Category A price tag – £30m and above. Given the state of the financial affairs at Anfield, that’s completely unrealistic – as good a player as the Danish playmaker is.
Brendan Rodgers could really do with a player in this mould, but he’s punching above his weight if there is any truth to the claims that he holds an interest in Eriksen – and there are other players who could fill the creative void at Anfield.
Mateo Kovacic is a good example, and Dinamo Zagreb’s 18 year-old playmaker is a star-in-waiting – if you haven’t seen him before, then think of him as an underdeveloped version of Luka Modric as a guideline (video below). He’s technically brilliant, and has the potential to grow far beyond Christian Eriksen’s talent level.
And he’d be about half the price…

Fantastic player welcom to lfc YNWA
Suso is far better. Give Suso 3 or 4 years and he’ll be one of the best players in the world. Learning his trade out wide now but when he moved into the middle we will see the real Suso.
